The plugin is how you install fibers today, on macOS, Linux and in cloud sessions. The desktop app has no signed build yet.

Versioned release paths are immutable and cached for a year; the marketplace file is never cached, so an update shows the moment the lane publishes it. Checksums arrive with the release lane.
